Pensioner murdered

20th June 2017 – Physical

A man has been jailed after murdering a pensioner at his home in Glasgow. The defendant struck the victim with a knife before throttling the victim with a piece of fabric.

Following the murder, the defendant concealed the victims remains in a bedroom wardrobe. In a bid to cover up his crime, the defendant washed upholstery, floors and other surfaces in the victim’s home, but the defendant was caught after Police officers found his DNA in various places on the property, and on the fabric garrote used to strangle the victim.

The defendant was sentenced to a minimum of 13 years in prison.
